Factors of an Advertisement

Factors of an Advertisement

Uniqueness

When creating an advertisement, being unique is very important, as advertising is a field of creativity. The more creativity you portray, the more people you will attract. Make it an advertisement that people haven't seen before, one that stands out because if you make it an advertisement that is similar to a lot of others, nobody will pay attention to yours.
The following is a couple of examples of unique adverts.

Psychology

Another key factors for an advertisement is psychology, you need to make an advertisement that will stay in their heads, something catchy, sad or humorous, it can be anything as long as it stays in their head. It also needs to be something people can relate to or a 'theme' that is currently popular, it may be a joke that is currently funny or something that your target audience seem to like.

Presentation & Suitable Media

When choosing a type of media, it has to be something that the target audience will actually see, maybe a TV commercial during a TV show your audience seem to like or on a billboard where everyone will see, once you've chosen a suitable type of media, make sure it is presented neatly and not too crowded so people will actually be able to read it. Also, make it eye-catching, if it's for kids, make it bright and colorful so people will see it.

Content

This part is very important, you can present it beautifully and make it eye-catching but if you haven't explained to them what your product is about, why they should get it and how it works, than it will just be useless. Also, getting a celebrity's opinion will attract more viewers or getting other people's opinions on it during the advertisement. List very good reasons on why they should get it so they'll be persuaded to go and buy your product.

Brand & Product Category Experience

If a customer has never used your brand or your product category then convincing them why they need your product is the most important aspect. However, if they are familiar with the product category but not your brand, then the most important aspect will be making your brand look unique and something that is better than any other brand. If they've used both your brand and your product category, then reminding them why they should always use your brand and the element of surprise is the most important factor.

Regional Culture

When creating an advert in a certain place, make sure you take account of their local language and culture, also when creating an advert, an important aspect is making sure nothing will be taken offensive.

Teasers

When the release date of your ad comes closer, occasionally releasing small snippets of your ad will make your viewers more curious about your advert.

Element of Surprise

If you follow the three elements which is getting your information across, using psychology to keep your advert stuck in people's heads & regional sensibilities and an element of surprise will give you great results.

Prospect

In your advert, make sure people know what you want them to do and to take away after watching your advert, if you want them to raise awareness on a subject or to buy your product, you have to make this clear.

Trust

Be trustworthy. If your brand is unreliable then nobody will want to buy your product, have a good relationship with your customers that way, when a new product comes out, they will know you are trustworthy, make yourself seem like you aren't some crazy businessman that way they know you are relate able and understand what they need.
